Mammography and breast health services are available at the Women’s Imaging Center located in the Center for Ambulatory Resources (CARES), next to the Women and Children’s Pavilion at Saint Peter’s University Hospital. The Women’s Imaging Center is part of Saint Peter’s University Hospital’s comprehensive women’s health services.
The Women’s Imaging Center is an FDA-approved facility accredited by the American College of Radiology as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence for Mammography, Stereotactic Breast Biopsy, and Breast Ultrasound and Ultrasound-guided Breast Biopsy.
Our staff is comprised of expert professionals who are:
- Board certified radiologists with specialty training in breast imaging
- Registered mammography technologists
- Registered ultrasound technologists
- Friendly and competent ancillary staff including nursing assistants and registration personnel
- Biopsy schedulers
- Patient navigator
Services include:
- Digital mammography, which produces images in less than a minute
- Picture Archive and Communication System (PACS) for future retrieval of images at any time
- Computer-Aided Detection (CAD) used in conjunction with digital mammography to highlight abnormal areas, thereby aiding your radiologist
- Breast, abdominal, renal, pelvic, transvaginal and thyroid ultrasounds
- Stereotactic- and ultrasound-guided breast biopsies
- Breast Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
The Women’s Imaging Center is located in close proximity to the CARES Surgicenter, a member of the Saint Peter’s Healthcare System. In addition to breast imaging services, the Center provides ultrasound services and state-of-the-art bone densitometry.
