Susan A. McManus, MD, FACS

Susan McManus, MDDr. McManus is chief of Saint Peter's University Hospital's breast surgery section and director of its breast center.

Dr. McManus completed her internship and residency in general surgery at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City, during which time she received the Leon Ginsburg Award for best chief resident and was appointed clinical instructor in surgery.

Following her residency and relocation to New Jersey, Dr. McManus joined the medical staff at both Saint Peter’s and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. She also served as Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery in RWJ's School of Medicine, where as director of the OB-GYN breast rotation, she was recognized by surgical residents with the James Jones Teaching Award for best instructor.

A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. McManus is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons; the American Society of Breast Diseases; the Society of Surgical Oncology; the American College of Surgeons and the New York Metropolitan Breast Group, as well as several hospital and community health committees located throughout the region and state. She is a former president of the medical staff at Saint Peter's, and a member of the hospital's Board of Trustees, as well as a past president of the American Cancer Society's Middlesex Division.

Lisa Hopkins, MD

Lisa Hopkins, MDDr. Hopkins completed a breast surgical oncology fellowship at Saint Luke's-Roosevelt/Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City.

A graduate of the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, Chicago Medical School in Chicago, Illinois with a degree in medicine, Dr. Hopkins completed her surgical residency at York Hospital in York, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Hopkins is member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons, the American Medical Association and the American College of Surgeons, She is a former member of the hospital's Cancer Committee and Institutional Review Board. Currently, she is licensed to practice medicine in both New York and New Jersey.

Kim Dixon, MD

Kim Dixon, MDDr. Dixon is board certified in internal medicine and has been a member of the Saint Peter’s University Hospital medical staff since 2003. She is a graduate of The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and completed her residency in internal medicine at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in 2003.

Dr. Dixon has completed additional training as a breast health specialist and has a strong interest in treating individuals with a family history of breast cancer. If you have a mother, daughter, sister or cousin who is interested in finding out about their risk for breast cancer based on their specific family history.


Melissa Martinez, RN, MSN, APN-BC, CBPN-IC

Melissa Martinez, RN, MSN, APN-BC, CBPN-ICMelissa Martinez is a Nurse Practitioner and Patient Navigator with NJ Breast Surgeons and the Breast Center at Saint Peter's.

Prior to her current position, Ms. Martinez worked for seven years as a registered nurse at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where she specialized in the areas of oncology, interventional radiology, women's health and internal medicine.

Ms. Martinez earned her Master's Degree in Nursing from The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 2008, and is a 2002 graduate of The College of New Jersey with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. She is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. In 2012 Melissa received the designation of Certified Breast Patient Navigator through the completion of the National Consortium of Breast Centers Inc. Breast Patient Navigator Certification Program. The program validates Martinez’ knowledge and skills in navigating a breast patient through their breast care/cancer continuum of care.
