Saint Peter’s offers cancer care for both adults and children, boasting a full-service oncology program including an inpatient unit and outpatient radiation and infusion services. The hospital was re-accredited by the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer as a Teaching Hospital Cancer Program, receiving three-year Accreditation with Commendation in 2009. Saint Peter's first received this gold-standard accreditation in 1985. Saint Peter’s was also granted a three-year full accreditation in 2009 for its Breast Center by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a program administered by the American College of Surgeons. Saint Peter’s is the first hospital in central New Jersey and the second in the state to earn accreditation for breast cancer services.
Offering the most advanced technology, medications and surgical procedures available today, Saint Peter's comprehensive, full-service oncology program includes a new 24-single-bed oncology unit for adults that opened in March 2008.
