It is our pleasure to present to you the Saint Peter’s University Hospital and Drexel University College of Medicine’s Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
A new beginning for this institution was highlighted in 2004 by the formation of a new and independent Obstetrics and Gynecology residency here at Saint Peter’s, and the completion of a collaborative merger with Drexel University College of Medicine.
We are fully accredited by the ACGME and the RRC Committee in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
We have designed our program to provide the residents a well balanced exposure to the ever broadening field of Woman’s Health Care. Our residency’s core mission is to provide the education and experiences necessary to develop the attitudes and skills required to practice as an independent and confident Ob/Gyn generalist.
In addition the program is designed to provide each of our residents the chance to rotate in each of the various sub-specialties in Ob/Gyn, in order to facilitate and promote a potential fellowship interest.
The importance of continuity of patient care is stressed and provided with the establishment and participation in continuity clinic throughout the four years. Integrated into this are several rotations as the chief of the Ambulatory services.
Our goals and objectives are very well organized and published for each resident in each core rotation. Evaluations are completed on a continuous basis following the ACGME core competencies for Graduate Medical Education.
Team work, respect, professionalism, selfless service, and safety, are paramount to our goals and objectives.
