Nurse Practitioner Preceptorship
The Division of Neonatology at The Children’s Hospital at Saint Peter’s University Hospital has partnered with area nursing programs to provide a premier preceptor program for nurse practitioner students. The clinical preceptorship is designed to provide the advance practice neonatal nurse student with a concentrated and supervised opportunity to apply knowledge and skills learned from neonatal nursing courses, and research and theory to the management of high-risk neonatal patients. Emphasis is placed on the evaluation of infants who have complex problems; the development of comprehensive management plans; and the application of current research in the development of strategies to meet the needs of high-risk neonatology patients and their families.
Our staff of nurse practitioner preceptors has a passion for teaching and sharing their knowledge. All of our nurse practitioner providers have exceptional clinical skills and have worked hard to become experts in the management of high-risk neonatology patients and their families.
