Adult Multispecialty Health Center

Each year more than 6,000 patients ages 18 and above visit the Adult Multispecialty Health Center for their primary healthcare needs. Our patients have access to the wide variety of medical services offered at Saint Peter’s University Hospital, including:

  • Primary Care Medicine (general care, including Pap tests)
  • Diabetes Self-Management Education (including how to inject insulin and check blood sugar)
  • Endocrinology (thyroid/diabetes)
  • Epilepsy (seizures)
  • Gastroenterology (stomach/liver/colon)
  • Nutrition Education (diet/meals)
  • Nephrology (kidney)
  • Ophthalmology (eye)
  • Podiatry (foot)
  • Psychology (mental/emotional)
  • Prescription Assistance Program (PAP)
  • Psychology (mental/emotional)
  • Social Work (general assistance)

We also provide subspecialty care including cardiology, hematology, infectious diseases, pulmonary and sleep medicine, rheumatology, surgical services, travel medicine, urology, wound care, and more.

Because more than half of our patients speak a language other than English, we have an interpreter system that can interpret over 100 different languages.

Diabetes and Hypertension

Saint Peter’s Family Health Center offers a service for uninsured/underinsured adults 18 years of age and older and non-pregnant women who have been diagnosed with diabetes and. Saint Peter’s diabetes and hypertension services provide patients with the care and resources they need in one convenient location in order to reduce hospital admissions and emergency room visits.

Using a comprehensive, coordinated and compassionate team approach, care focuses on the patient’s medical and social needs. Services include medical care; patient education on managing medications and living and coping with chronic disease; nutrition counseling; foot, skin and eye care; information about community resources; and follow-up care.

The Saint Peter’s healthcare team includes physicians, advanced practice nurses, registered nurses, certified diabetes educators, social workers and case managers, transition coaches, and nutritionists. Each work together to provide the resources patients need to better manage their diabetes and hypertension.
