Patients 18 and older who are experiencing issues with addiction, alcohol, smoking, opiates, depression or serious mental illness can access behavioral health services under the QIP-NJ (Quality Improvement Program-New Jersey) program at Saint Peter’s Family Health Center. Saint Peter’s partners with behavioral health agencies in the community to provide services.

Individuals who come into Saint Peter’s Emergency Department while in crisis for alcohol or drug use are seen by a substance abuse counselor, an addiction recovery specialist or patient peers. These individuals are then referred to counseling and recovery programs in the area and have follow-up with Adult Family Health Center specialists at Saint Peter’s Family Health Center.
