NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ: Saint Peter’s University Hospital will host a series of simple, potentially lifesaving screenings in July and August to assess risk for stroke, abdominal aortic aneurysms and other vascular diseases. Known as Life Line Screening, the ultrasound technology offered in these tests can determine a person’s risk for cardiovascular disease, which is the No. 1 cause of death in the United States for both men and women.
These are the same screenings that a personal physician can order but are typically not paid for by insurance unless an individual already has symptoms of cardiovascular disease. The screenings have proved to be safe and accurate in detecting a person’s risks for stroke and vascular disease – so an individual and their doctor can do something about it before it is too late.
The battery of tests includes five painless screenings for stroke, vascular disease, heart rhythm and osteoporosis for $149, a savings of $129 if each of those tests were purchased separately. Life Line Screening has screened nearly 8 million men and women, and thousands of those customers report that they believe the screenings have saved their lives.
Life Line has partnered with Saint Peter’s University Hospital to provide screenings throughout central New Jersey. Stroke screenings will be available at the following locations. Preregistration is required. Call 1-877-557-7497 to register and for additional information.
