Saint Peter’s Delgado named to N.J. State Board of Nursing

 NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. – Yolanda Delgado, MSN, RNC, of Carteret, and nurse manager of the Saint Peter’s University Hospital Adult Medicine-Renal Unit, has been appointed by Gov. Chris Christie to the New Jersey State Board of Nursing.

The mission of the New Jersey State Board of Nursing is to protect the health and safety of the public through effective public policy, competent and ethical nursing practice, and exceptional customer service. The board accomplishes its mission in an environment characterized by openness, trust and integrity. The board’s vision is to:

Delgado is serving her second term as president of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses – New Jersey Chapter – a post to which was first appointed in 2012.

Prior to her role as nurse manager of the Adult Medicine-Renal Unit at Saint Peter’s, Delgado was an ICN charge nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Saint Peter’s – one of the largest NICU’s on the East Coast - a staff registered nurse at Saint Peter’s, and was assistant nursing care coordinator at North Central Bronx Hospital, Bronx, N.Y.

Delgado also served as program coordinator for Saint Peter’s Healthcare System’s dual-role medical interpreter services, the first hospital program in New Jersey to train bilingual staff to serve as dual-role health care interpreters for patients and families.
