March 5, 2015

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J.: Saint Peter’s University Hospital will host the second annual New Jersey Conference on Breastfeeding for healthcare professionals from 7:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, in the Sister Marie de Pazzi Conference Center, ground floor of the hospital.

The conference will present opportunities for those in the healthcare field to network and receive education. Programs will be geared to the needs of physicians and other healthcare professionals in subspecialties working in hospitals, clinics and private physician offices. Lectures and in-depth workshops by renowned experts in the field of breastfeeding will be presented.

Attendees can also take advantage of breastfeeding exhibits and a book fair.

The 2015 NJ Breastfeeding Champion Physician Award will also be presented.

Contact Alla Gordina, MD, at for information and registration.
Sponsorship opportunities are also available.

Gordina noted: “There is a great and largely unmet need for physician-oriented breastfeeding training. Understanding that such training is an integral part of ‘Baby-Friendly’ accreditation, access to the specialized and continued breastfeeding medicine (BFM) education becomes even more acute.  New Jersey ranks one of the worst states in most of breastfeeding parameters. Only four N.J. hospitals are currently designated as “Baby Friendly.”
