Saint Peter's University Hospital Hosts Virtual Family Lecture on Adolescent/Family Coping Skills During the Pandemic

Second of six free virtual lectures on adolescent and family health issues                             

New Brunswick, N.J. – February 12, 2021 – Saint Peter’s University Hospital, a member of Saint Peter’s Healthcare System, will host the second of six free virtual lectures on adolescent and family health issues. The topic of this lecture, “Adolescent/Family Coping Skills During the Pandemic,” will be presented virtually on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 from 6:30 to 7:30 PM over Zoom by Suzanne Lind, MD, Psychiatry, The Children’s Hospital at Saint Peter's University Hospital.
 
Dr. Lind will discuss methods for coping with the challenges the pandemic has created due to its impact on regular routines and activities, especially for teens. She will also discuss typical teenage behavior during the pandemic, what parents should do if their child needs help, and local resources for families.

Organized by Saint Peter’s Opioid Task Force, this virtual lecture series is designed for parents and families. The presentation will address common parental concerns about the numerous ways the pandemic has impacted teens, from issues like isolation to how they cope, socialize and develop. The series will also explore addiction which has escalated during the pandemic and resources for successful recovery.
 
The virtual lectures will be presented every other Wednesday through April. Each lecture will start at 6:30 PM. The full list of upcoming lecture topics is below:
