Emergency Neonatal Transport Hero

Emergency Neonatal Transport

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at The Children’s Hospital at Saint Peter’s University Hospital cares for more newborns than any other hospital in the area. Critically ill infants and children throughout Central New Jersey and neighboring counties have prompt access to our specialized NICU services via our Mobile Intensive Care Transport Unit. Each of our intensive care ambulances are equipped with the latest technology and staffed by a board certified neonatologist, nurse, and respiratory therapist trained in the care of critically ill children. Our transport isolettes are self-contained intensive care units on wheels, equipped with a ventilator, equipment to monitor blood pressure and other vital functions, as well as administer intravenous fluids and medications. Sick newborns begin receiving lifesaving attention almost immediately from their local hospital and during their trip to the NICU at The Children’s Hospital at Saint Peter’s.
