Pulmonary Medicine

Saint Peter’s University Hospital provides various services in the field of Pulmonary Medicine. For example, patients are evaluated and cared for with the following symptoms or findings:

  1.     Shortness of breath
  2.     Cough
  3.     Wheezing
  4.     Chest pain
  5.     Abnormal chest x-ray


These symptoms or findings may be related to common ailments such as allergies, asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) to less common diagnoses of pulmonary hypertension, lung scarring or fibrosis and genetic disorders involving the lungs. The infrastructure that supports caring for patients with pulmonary diseases includes a Pulmonary Function Lab, Respiratory Therapy department and advanced CT scan machines.
