Saint Peter’s Specialty Pharmacy provides medications and personalized support for Saint Peter’s patients with complex or chronic conditions. Specialty medications may require additional support because of potential side effects, insurance requirements or specialized administration. Our pharmacists, technicians and patient liaisons work closely with patients and their Saint Peter’s care team to help them access, understand and manage their specialty medications.
Saint Peter’s Specialty Pharmacy reflects our continued commitment to expanding access to medications and services for the communities we serve. Through responsible stewardship of programs such as the 340B Drug Pricing Program, Saint Peter’s is able to strengthen resources that support medication access, care coordination and ongoing patient support.
Services include:
- 24/7 access to a pharmacist or other staff via phone support services
- Free home delivery
- Help identifying available co-pay assistance programs
- Medication education and counseling
- Patient services in multiple languages
- Refill reminders and automatic refill scheduling
- Select treatment supplies, including syringes and pillboxes
- Support with insurance requirements and prior authorizations
Our specialty pharmacists work directly with several Saint Peter’s outpatient care teams, including gastroenterology, rheumatology, adult endocrinology and pediatric endocrinology, to help coordinate medications and address barriers to treatment.
Getting Started
Our team works with each patient’s insurance company to help get coverage for the specialty medications and will let patients know their co-pays before each prescription is filled. For eligible patients, the team can provide information about available financial assistance programs.
Once the pharmacy receives a specialty prescription, the patient is offered enrollment at no cost in the Saint Peter’s Specialty Pharmacy Patient Management Program. Through the program, our specialty pharmacy team provides medication education, refill support and ongoing assistance throughout treatment. Participation in the Patient Management Program is voluntary.
