Saint Peter’s Emergency Department is easily accessed off Easton Avenue on Park Boulevard in New Brunswick, New Jersey. As you near the hospital, well-marked signs guide patients and families directly to the emergency department door. Pull right up. Free valet parking is available at the Emergency Department entrance on Park Boulevard, eliminating the need to spend precious time looking for a parking space.

The newly constructed Robert and Joan Campbell Adult Emergency Department (ED) is home to the Sharon and John Hajjar, MD Fast-Track, Acute Care and Rapid Treatment and Women’s Health pods. Geriatric-friendly enhancements such as softer lighting and more comfortable mattresses and healing colors were incorporated into the design of the new ED. During the renovation of the Saint Peter’s Emergency Department – including the Dorothy B. Hersh Pediatric Emergency Department – a redesigned entranceway for ambulances also was constructed.

Saint Peter’s Emergency Department has one of the largest facilities in central New Jersey. It is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by a highly trained team of emergency medicine physicians, who are board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine, and other emergency professionals.

Recognizing that time is essential in an emergency, the entire staff at Saint Peter’s Emergency Department is dedicated to treating patients as quickly as possible. Saint Peter’s coordinates care between emergency medicine physicians, neurologists and radiologists, and offers emergency angioplasty, a life-saving procedure that may help heart attack patients experience less heart muscle damage, faster recovery time and improved quality of life. Saint Peter’s is also a designated primary stroke center staffed with a team of specialists available around-the-clock to administer time-to-treatment protocols from the time a patient enters Saint Peter’s Emergency Department.
