Natural Family Planning provides information for those who wish to plan or postpone pregnancy using modern, scientific, natural methods. In a series of four classes, ways to determine the fertile times of the woman's cycle using basal body temperature, cervical mucus observation and observation of other body changes that occur at the time of ovulation are taught. Used in accordance with the guidelines taught, these natural methods of family planning have a proven effectiveness rate of 98% or higher.
The Natural Family Planning program can also assist those who are experiencing difficulty in achieving pregnancy, by helping them to identify the most fertile days in the cycle. Charting of cycles can also help in the early identification of fertility problems, some of which can be helped through simple lifestyle and dietary changes.
Women in special fertility situations such as postpartum, breast-feeding and premenopause can successfully chart their daily signs of fertility or infertility as they await the return of their natural ovulatory cycles. It is not necessary to have "regular" menstrual cycles to learn and use Natural Family Planning.
Classes are offered during the day between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Evening and weekend classes are also available upon request. Classes are available in Spanish.
