Our teaching program is based on individualized assessment. Our team of certified diabetes educated (CDE) nurses and dietitians will help you learn blood glucose monitoring techniques, record keeping and interpretation and provide nutritional guidelines for both blood sugar control and pregnancy.

In order to schedule for a class, participants must have a prescription from their OB/GYN doctor for “Gestational Diabetes Management.” In addition, participants are told to check with their insurance company (call their member services number on their insurance card) to see if they are covered for “Gestational Diabetes Management” at “Saint Peter’s University Hospital” (because it will be a facility charge) under their insurance policy.

They also need to check to see if they require an insurance referral from their OB/GYN or PCP.

If there are any questions or concerns, they can also call the Education Secretary at the Thyroid and Diabetes Center at 732-339-7630.
